The Forest School Experience


At Forest School, children aged 4 to 12 enjoy immersive, full-day outdoor learning led by Ontario-certified educators. The program's flexible structure maximizes interaction with nature, whether children are examining plants or perfecting their crafting skills.

Unique Programs for Different Ages


Forest School offers three programs tailored to suit the needs of younger children and their caregivers:


🌳 Forest Schoolers (Ages 4–12)


Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays | Time: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm | Cost: $63/day


The full-day program promotes independence and resilience through a variety of exciting activities. With the guidance of qualified educators, children experience a rich learning environment where they explore nature. For example, they might build a shelter and learn basic engineering concepts, all while enhancing their social skills through group play.


🐸 Tadpoles (Ages 2.5–4)


Schedule: Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings | Cost: $30/day


The Tadpoles program provides a gentle introduction to outdoor learning. Through nature play, songs, crafts, and guided explorations, children enhance their curiosity. This program encourages individual exploration and fosters social interaction, laying the groundwork for a lifelong love of nature.


🌱 Oaks & Acorns (18 months–3 years)


Schedule: Tuesday mornings | Cost: $27.50/day


Designed for parents and toddlers, this half-day program focuses on building connections. It includes activities like mud play and interactive games that help families engage with their surroundings. This is an excellent opportunity for caregivers to bond while discovering nature together.


What to Bring for a Memorable Day


Packing for a day at Forest School is essential for a great experience. Here’s a helpful checklist:


  • Labeled Backpack: Helps keep personal items organized.

  • Lunch & Snacks: Energizing food to fuel a busy day.

  • Extra Clothes & Layers: Prepare for unpredictable weather.
