Arrival and Welcome
Beginning at 9:30 AM, students will arrive at Abbey Gardens, welcomed with friendly introductions. This kickoff creates a friendly atmosphere and sets the stage for a day full of collaboration and learning.
After a quick washroom break, students will be ready to explore their beautiful surroundings. This early gathering fosters a sense of community, helping children feel connected and excited for the day ahead.
EcoQuest: A Forest-Based Scavenger Hunt
The excitement continues with EcoQuest, a thrilling forest-based scavenger hunt from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. In this activity, students will discover the rich variety of plants and animals that inhabit the gardens and the surrounding areas.
Participants will be split into small teams, promoting teamwork and cooperation as they solve challenges. For instance, they might search for specific leaves, identify various bird calls, or spot insects. This hands-on exploration instills a genuine appreciation for nature early on.

Snack Break
At 10:45 AM, students will take a much-deserved break. Abbey Gardens provides light snacks, such as fresh fruit and granola bars, allowing kids to refuel for all the exciting activities ahead.
This break is crucial as it gives students time to relax, share stories about what they have found, and prepare mentally for the structured programs that follow.
Abbey Gardens' Program
From 11:00 AM to 12:20 PM, students will dive into one of the engaging educational programs offered at Abbey Gardens. Some possible options include:
Wonderful Water: An exploration of aquatic ecosystems. Did you know that wetlands are home to about 40% of the world's amphibians? Students will learn why these ecosystems are vital to our planet.
Animal Survival Game: This fun activity teaches students about wildlife and their habitats through interactive play. Students might learn how animals adapt to their environments and thrive.
Outdoor Skills: Practical instruction on skills like navigating using a compass or identifying edible plants helps enhance children's confidence and self-reliance.
Customized Programs: Tailored experiences based on what the students find most interesting. This personalized approach makes learning fun and meaningful.
During this time, students will split into two groups alternating between the chosen program and a disc golf session that fosters physical activity and strategic thinking.

Lunch Break
At 12:30 PM, students will gather for a lunch break. Each child is encouraged to bring a packed lunch filled with nutritious foods to energize them for the afternoon.
This lunch period also serves as another chance for kids to bond. Sharing stories about their morning adventures can enhance friendships and excitement for the activities still to come.
Afternoon Activities
After lunch, from 1:00 PM to 2:20 PM, students will either continue with the Abbey Gardens program or return to disc golf. This rotating schedule keeps learning fun and dynamic.
Disc golf, for instance, is not only enjoyable but also promotes teamwork and healthy competition, allowing students to work together while enjoying the natural landscape around them.
